Our Story

The Aagaman Story

Rooted in Nepal. Grown in Melbourne. Driven by a love of food, culture and community.

From the Himalayas

A Journey Across Continents

Aagaman — meaning "arrival" in Nepali — was born from a simple conviction: that the extraordinary culinary traditions of the Himalayan region deserved a permanent home in Melbourne.

Founder · Ram Sapkota — with roots in Kathmandu — arrived in Melbourne in the early 2010s with a belief that refined, authentic Nepalese and Himalayan cooking could resonate in one of Australia's greatest food cities.

Today, across three Melbourne locations, we continue that mission — elevating Himalayan cuisine to its rightful place at the fine dining table.

Why Himalayan Cuisine?

A Cuisine Like No Other

Himalayan cuisine is one of the world's great undiscovered culinary traditions. Shaped by altitude, climate and centuries of cultural exchange between Tibet, India and Nepal.

From the smoky, complex flavours of Newari cooking to the delicate spice balance of Tibetan dumplings — Aagaman is your introduction to this remarkable world.
